James Pond is a computer platform game that was developed by Millennium Interactive and published by Electronic Arts for the Amiga and other platforms in 1991.
In the game the player controls a walking fish who has to solve puzzles to defeat the enemy. The game spoofs James Bond with levels mimicking Bond movies, with titles like "A View to a Spill" and "Leak and Let Die".
It was followed by 3 sequels: another platform game: James Pond 2: Codename: RoboCod, a game with sports theme: The Aquatic Games, and another platform game: James Pond 3: Operation Starfish.
James Pond 2: Codename: RoboCod is being rereleased for the DS and Game Boy Advance under the name "James Pond: Codename Robocod".
[edit] Other James Ponds
The "James Pond" name was also used by a strip in the United Kingdom comic Buster, in which the secret agent was a frog. Another amphibian James Pond has appeared in Muppet calendars parodying James Bond movie posters, played by Kermit the Frog. Also, an amateur film company, Bookton MacArthur Productions is creating a parody series of mini-films entitled James Pond. The "James Pond" name was also used in a Bill Nye the Science Guy sketch.
