James Max

James Max came to the public's attention as a finalist in the first series of BBC2's The Apprentice. He reached the semi finals. He now presents the weekday business update on talkSPORT and recently was given his own Saturday evening show from 8 - 10pm having covered for Mike Mendoza, George Galloway and Ian Collins. Max also presents a show on London's LBC 97.3 every Sunday evening from 7 - 9pm and regularly reviews the newspapers for LBC News 1152.

Ally Ross, of The Sun Newspaper - got on the Max bandwagon when he reported the infamous and BAFTA winning home shopping episode when Max wore a Wolf Spirit Jacket - the sales of which confounded Sir Alan Sugar.

James was born in London in May 1970 and attended St Paul's School. He has three elder brothers, Robert (a cellist), Edward (an actor) and Richard (a lawyer). His parents, Wendy and Michael live in North London.

James is a qualified chartered surveyor and spent 15 years working in property, investment and finance. After starting his career at DTZ (working with Elite RFU Rugby Director Rob Andrew) - he left in 1998 having been made their European Investment Director. He joined Morgan Stanley and worked in their Investment Banking Division. He then joined the secretive Private Equity firm Doughty Hanson as a Principal.

His television credits aside from The Apprentice include two episodes of The Morning After Show (presented by Simon Amstell and Olivia Lee), BBC Breakfast and some short films for BBC2's Working Lunch. He is a regular pannelist on Overseas Property TV's "Ask The Property Experts" and now co-presents a new show for them called "Property Pensions"

He has written for The Sunday Times, Times Online and has a monthly lifestyle column for Property Week Magazine.

His interests include skiing, tennis and travel. He loves music and has a significant collection whilst taking time out to admire Harry Potter and Aston Martin cars.
