James Mathews

James Mathews (Australia) was a rugby league footballer in the New South Wales Rugby League(NSWRL) competition.

Mathews attended the Yanco Agricultural Colledge, before being sighned by the Illawarra Steelers rugby league side in 1988 where he played until joining the Eastern Suburbs club in 1992. He was a representive of City, in that first year, in the annual match against country. Mathews also headed the Roosters points scoring that list that year. The promising young centre was tragically killed in a car accident on christmas eve of that year.
