James M. Bell (born: 1 July 1845 County Antrim, Ireland and died 1 July 1901) was a United States Army soldier awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor during the Indian Wars. Private Bell is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois

Private Bell is not to be confused with two-time Medal of Honor winner James Franklin Bell who later obtained the rank of Major General or with Sergeant James B. Bell of the 11th Ohio Infantry, who won his medal during the Civil War
