James Kennard

Rabbi James Kennard (born 1964) is a leading educationalist in the British Jewish Community. He was previously Headteacher of King Solomon High School, Barkingside, London.

He was educated at St Paul's School in London and read Mathematics at New College, Oxford. He received Rabbinic ordination in Israel in 1989.

From 1991 until 1998 he was the founding Head of Jewish Studies, and subsequently Head, of Yavneh, a division of the King David High School in Manchester, England. From 1998-2004 he was Headteacher of Broughton Jewish Cassel Fox Primary School in Manchester.

Since 2004, James Kennard served as the Headteacher of King Solomon High School Barkingside, London. This position was held until 2006

In 2007 he took up the position as Principal of Mount Scopus Memorial College in Melbourne, Australia.

He has contributed regular articles in the London Jewish News and appeared on BBC Radio.

He married Vicky Kennard (1964- ) in 1987, and has four sons and a daughter.
