James Hunt (born 12 December 1976) is an English footballer. He is currently contracted to Bristol Rovers, but is on loan at Grimsby Town.

Hunt was captain of Bristol Rovers until November 2006, when a disagreement with first team coach Paul Trollope about Hunt being named as a substitute instead of being in the starting 11 led to him being transfer listed.[1]

He previously played for Notts County, Northampton Town and Oxford United.
