James Harvey (born February 15, 1979, in Perth, Western Australia) is an Australian basketball player currently playing in the NBL. Harvey currently plays for the West Sydney Razorbacks and previously played for the Perth Wildcats.
In March 2007, it was revealed Harvey was one of three Australian sportsmen whose conversations with a convicted drug dealer were recorded by police phone taps during operation Remuda in 2003.[1] It was revealed Harvey had talked about his use of the drug ecstasy.[1] Due to the potential damage to the reputation of the league, the NBL is deciding how to deal with Harvey, who has made full disclosure of his past actions.[2]
