James Hannigan

James Hannigan (born July 23, 1971) is a BAFTA-celebrated composer and writer of incidental music.

He has scored many titles, including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Catwoman, Freelancer, Brute Force, Evil Genius, Republic: The Revolution, Sim Theme Park, Sim Coaster, Grand Prix 4, Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, F1 2000, F1 Manager, FIFA Soccer Manager, Reign of Fire, Conquest: Frontier Wars and many others.

Hannigan's music has been nominated four times by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), and he shared a win with Electronic Arts in 2000 for Sim Theme Park. An accomplished Sound Designer, in earlier years Hannigan also worked on films such as Lost In Space and is based at Pinewood Studios in the UK, where he heads up the production company Post Linear Creations.

In 2004, Hannigan wrote a seminal cover article for the UK's Develop Magazine entitled 'Changing Our Tune', which outlined the differences between scoring for games and conventional linear media forms. He has also been featured and/or interviewed in journals such as Resolution, Audio Media, Post and Musician, and has talked at events such as the Edinburgh International Games Festival, Musicworks and the BAFTA Interactive Festival.
