James Hanington

James Hanington (October 14, 1983 – ) is a Canadian businessman.

Born in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Hanington is the Chief Learning Officer of the BackDRAFT Corporation and the Vice-president of Marketing of Stiff Sentences Inc.

Raised a liberal, Hanington became a conservative and is an active member of the Conservative Party of Canada.

He has worked extensively with aid organizations around the world, centering in Asia and Eastern Equatorial Africa. He is the Secretary of the Phileas Fogg Society, a group that promotes international development, diplomacy, art and culture.

He is the grandson of Rear-Admiral Daniel Lionel Hanington, and is a direct descendant of former New Brunswick Premier Daniel Hanington.

He was educated in Italy and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Ottawa's Carleton University.

He is a competitive ballroom dancer, having appeared in over 35 international competitions with his former partner, Ludmilla Sekret, and on Canada's A-Channel in a Dancing with the Stars featurette.
