James F. Lloyd

James Fredrick Lloyd (born September 27, 1922, Helena, Montana) was a California Democratic politician and United States Representative.

Lloyd attended public schools in Washington State, California, and Oregon. Attended the University of Oregon, 1940-1942 but did not graduate. Attained B.A. at Stanford University, 1958. Attained M.A. at University of Southern California, 1966. Pursued a public relations and advertising career, later a teacher and instructor of political science at Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, California, 1970-1973. Served in the United States Navy as a naval aviator, 1942-1963 (retired). Member, Democratic State Central Committee, 1968-1972. Served as City Councilman of West Covina, California 1968-1975, including as Mayor of West Covina, 1973-1974. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth, Ninety-fifth, and Ninety-sixth Congresses, serving January 3, 1975-January 3, 1981. Was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1980 to the Ninety-seventh Congress. Is a resident of West Covina, California.
