James Denton is a British journalist and model. He is the creator and editor of the UK magazine Fighting Spirit, which focuses on professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.

[edit] Career

After living in Los Angeles to study acting, Denton returned to the UK in 2000 and started as a videogames journalist on Future Publishing's popular GamesMaster magazine.

From there he took a position with security and anti-terrorism publisher, Intersec Publishing, working on the Intersec magazine as well as organizing the company’s international security exhibition.

He then moved on to now-defunct publisher Highbury House Communications to work on titles X360 and DVD Review (still being published by Imagine Publishing and Future Publishing respectively), Pokemon World (still being published) and XBM, Cube, and P2 (all ceased publication). During this time Denton provided popular audio commentaries for the cover-mounted X360 magazine DVDs with fellow journalist Ryan King. By a strange twist of fate, the man who would take Denton’s place recording the commentaries with King was renowned games journalist and TV personality Martin Mathers, who came to fame as a recurring character on the popular TV show GamesMaster, which would later become the magazine that saw the start of Denton’s career.

After Highbury House Communications went into administration and its videogames magazines were purchased by Imagine Publishing, Denton left the company to join Uncooked Media, where he launched Fighting Spirit in April 2006.
