James Bradford, born February 6, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri, is an American actor and singer. He is probably best known for being a reality television subject on the show Can't Get a Date.

Bradford grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born under the name James Blackford, he was adopted at the age of 2 1/2 wherein his legal name became James Warnock. He participated in children's theater with a group called The Peter Pan Players, and at the age of 18 took on the stage name James Bradford.

He signed a recording contract with producer Richard Morel in 1998, but the partnership was dissolved by 2000. The material from those sessions comprises Bradford's first album, Mnemosyne's Lounge, which was released independently. One of his songs appears on the DCide records compilation CD DCide: the 40.

Between 1998 and 2000 Bradford appeared on four episodes of the talk show Ricki Lake. [1]

Bradford continued to work in independent film and music, and briefly branched out into comedy with an improv group. He then relocated to New Orleans where he worked as a VJ and bartender at a bar in the French Quarter. In 2005 he moved to New York City where he was cast as a subject in the reality television program Can't Get a Date. On the show he was portrayed as an overweight gay man who had become disillusioned with his career and love life. By the end of the episode he was dating again, had revitalized his career, and had lost weight, but was shown to still be very negative.

As a result of that show and the subsequent publicity, interest in Bradford resurfaced. He has contributed music to the television drama Dante's Cove: five of his songs appear throughout four of the five episodes of season 2. Bradford tours the East Coast with his live band. He had a guest role on the television drama L.A. Forensics. He has independently released the single Relationship Destruction Machine and the albums Metronomosexual and Live at Rockwood. He appeared in the short film Bystander, and participated in the art project Art of Bleeding. [2]
