Jamar Mondell Fletcher (born August 28, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American football cornerback for the Detroit Lions of the NFL. He played his high school ball at Hazelwood East. He was originally a first round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins out of the University of Wisconsin, and in 2004 was traded to the San Diego Chargers. It was announced that Jamar signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions on May 1, 2006. At Wisconsin, Fletcher won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's best defensive back. He was also a key member of the Badgers' back-to-back Rose Bowl Champion teams.
