Jamais Cascio

Jamais Cascio is a San Francisco Bay Area-based writer and ethical futurist. In 2003, he was a founder of the popular environmental website Worldchanging. He has since blogged at Open The Future, a title based on his WorldChanging.com essay, 'The Open Future', and has written a monthly essay at Futurismic.
Cascio has been largely known as an imaginative futurist, having written two books for the GURPS science fiction role-playing game series "Transhuman Space", Broken Dreams (2002) and Toxic Memes (2003). In the 1990s, he worked for the futurist and scenario planning firm Global Business Network. He is regarded as a prominent figure in both the bright green branch of environmentalism and in the democratic transhumanist movement. He is often considered to be an important voice for futures studies. He spoke at the TED conference.
