I want to thank Guanaco for restoring the JPEG scan that some OrphanBot didn't like...

I created the entry that includes the Caltech badge, I uploaded the JPEG of the Caltech badge, I created the JPEG of the Caltech badge from the tangible Caltech badge, and I have the Caltech badge in a box in Pennsylvania -- and I still have not clearly understood the Wiki image copyright issues. Does someone have a primer for Wiki image copyright issues, as far as picking licenses or abandoning all licenses (permanent public domain)? The message that appears above this little note makes no sense to me.
