JAL Global Club（Japanese: JALグローバルクラブ, abbreviation"JGC"） is an elite member association operated by Japan Airlines(JAL) and JAL Card Co., JAL's subsidiary credit card company.

※This outline below is applied for Japan area members of JAL Mileage Bank(JMB). There are also JGC association in other areas, but its terms and conditions, qualifications and service depend on areas.(additional edit by JGC overseas members needed)

An application's invitation is delivered to individual members of JAL Mileage Bank or JAL Card who achieved the requirement below. Japan Airlines approves to join JGC if an applicant pass its credit audit and other review. JGC members are required to hold JAL Card Club-A(JAL Card's credit card status), Club-A Gold or JALDiners Card as long as keeping JGC status. JGC annual fee is free but members have to pay annual fee of JAL Card(JPY10,500 for Club-A, JPY16,800 for Club-A Gold and JPY23,100 for Diners Club).

  • JAL Mileage Bank members who has earned 50,000 or more "JAL FLY ON Points(FOP)"(elite qualifying miles, EQM) or earned 15,000 FOP with 50 or more elite qualifying segments(EQS) in a calender year (current or previous year). FOP and EQS can be credited by boarding JAL Group (Japan Airlines,Japan Asia Airlines,JALWays,Japan Trans Ocean Air,Japan Air Commuter,Hokkaido Air System,Ryukyu Air Commuter) domestic or international flights (with mile eligible fares). JGC members do not lose their status after they join JGC, even if members do not keep earning FOP or EQS (as like a semi-lifetime status). JGC members only lose its status of members when they voluntary leave or Japan Airlines or credit card issuer decide to deprive them of their status.

Airline company workers, travel agents and those who concerned to those trades are not permitted to join JGC. Japan Airlines has other criteria for reviewing applicants but it is not published.

JMB FLY ON Programme　1 FLY ON points(FOP) can be earned per 1 mile by international flights, 1.5 FOP per 1 mile by flights between Japan and China Mainland (including Hong Kong) and 2 FOP per 1 mile by Japanese domestic flights. All counting rates of mile depend on type of fares.

JGC members' spouses, parents and children at 18 or older who live with the member can apply for "JGC family member" and the privileges of JGC family member are the same as the original member. Each family member must hold JGC credit card and pay annual fee as well as the original member. Family members lose their status as a member if their original member lose his/her status as a JGC member.

JGC members can get original travel tags and passport holder with their members' number and names at their enrollment. Additionally, members can get other travel tags shaped hexagon after they board 500, 750, 1000, 1250, 1500 (each tag has different colour).

Such elite association based on frequent flyer programme (semi-lifetime status as long as a member pays annual fee) is recognized as a Japanese unique system around the world.

There is another such association "ANA Super Flyers Card" in ANA, which holders are qualified as Star Alliance Gold worldwide.

  • Member exclusive lounge access in downtown Tokyo and Osaka

There are other secret services such as involuntary upgrades on international flights or emergency help abroad.

[edit] JGC Premier(abbreviation:JGP)

This status is qualified to JAL Global Club members who have achieved the target（70,000 or more FLY ON Points, or 80 or more EQS）. The privileges can be offered from 2 months after the qualification to the second next March (next March if qualified from January or after).

Privileges are;

  • bonus boarding miles(+100%）
  • Free stay coupon for JAL Hotels direct-managed hotels
  • 3 upgrade coupons for international flights
  • 3 lounge coupons (available for international and domestic flights, transferable)
  • Flower gift coupon
  • Tokyo Disney Sea JAL-sponsored lounge coupon
  • Diamond Premier Lounge access (exclusive security check available) at Tokyo International Airport(Haneda Airport, HND)
  • If a JGC Premier member has already enrolled in Century21, free liquor bottle coupons are offered.

Coupons are delivered in each March, not same as the time of qualification.

This is a membership which JAL Global Club members can enroll.

Lounges are in Imperial Hotel（Tokyo）、Shin-TakanawaPrince Hotel、GinzaNikko Hotel.

Enrollment Fee(￥10,500) and annual fee(￥36,750) are required. Annual fee is waivered for JMB Diamond members, and 5 free coupons are delivered to JAL Global Premier members. Liquors and refreshments are served there, but there is no hostess. Visitors can enter lounges if a member invites them with a cover charge. They close at 10 PM, earlier than other bars and lounges.

Fitness room, sauna, jacuzzi and swimming pool in Takanawa Prince Hotel Sakura Tower, swimming pool and business centre in Shin-Takanawa Prince Hotel can be used with charge. Member and guest exclusive "Bayside Spa Zen(然) can be used for￥2,000 and for ￥5,000 for visitors with members.

[edit] Status after joining Oneworld

Oneworld status will be invested to FLY ON Programme elite members and JGC members on April 1, 2007 as Japan Airlines joins Oneworld alliance. Oneworld status for JGC Diamond, (JGC Premier),JGC Sapphire are the same as those who are not JGC members. However, JGC Crystal is qualified with higher status (Oneworld Sapphire) than JMB Criytal (Oneworld Ruby). Also, JGC members who have not achieved annual requirement are qualified lower (Oneworld Ruby) than those who has achieved (Oneworld Sapphire). A new requirement, boarding JAL Group flights (with mileage eligible fares) more than 4 time a calender year, is added to be qualified or keep each status (excluding JGC qualified as Onwworld Ruby) as FLY ON Point will be able to earn any Oneworld member flights from April 2007.
