Question

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF IM ALLOWED TO CUT OFF THE FIRST COUPLE OF MESSAGES.

  • According to WP:VAND:
Removing warnings Removing warnings for vandalism, personal attacks, or disruption from one's talk page is also considered vandalism.

It's ok!

Don't worry man! No hard feelings. :) —Khoikhoi 05:35, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: Recognition

Hey man. I would try checking out the new user log. If you need further help just post something at the new contributors' help page.

As for your second question, no, you have to get separate accounts for each Wikipedia. You can still have the same user name if it isn't taken already.

Hi I;m back from the World Cup and my Cro holiday!!!!!

Assyrians and Chaldeans

Hi , i was just wanderng if you could answer this question for me. I have Chal. and Assy frends and they argue a bit.

Tell me are Chaldeans and Assyrians the same or similar and y.

THE MILJAKINATOR 01:41, 18 August 2006 (UTC) nice to meet u

Hi there, yes sometimes we Assyrians do tend to fight within our communities. Chaldeans, incuding me, are ethnically Assyrians. You only see fights between us in the deaspora, like in Australia or U.S., because people forget their identity. The only difference between us is that we Chaldeans are Catholic and the others are Orthodox. But we speak the same language, live in the same land, have the same traditions. Chaldeans in history, used to be the commanders of the Assyrian nation...in WWI, we had an [Assyrian army], and it was led by a Chaldean hero named Agha Petros. So you see, historically we have always been one people, but just recently where our people have fled our homecountry, they start to fight with each other just because of the Catholic/Orthodox issue. Chaldean 03:23, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, ive been doing abit of poking around (by the way im Croatian , Roman Catholic) and it seems to me that from the 6th - 9th century BC the Babylonians entered into the Neo-Babylonian or Chaldean Age. They were fightong against Assyrians and such. Particularly when the Neo-Babylonians, with the assistance of the Medes sacked Ninveh. When you say thesame, do you mean historically, or after this did they integrateTHE MILJAKINATOR 04:43, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

You have to remember one thing; the Chaldeans of today are not the Chaldeans of ancient times. Chaldeans were Babylonians (Chaldean was just a nickname for them at one point time.) Today, the Babylonian-Chaldeans are believed to be the descents of Iraqi Arabs. After the [Neo-Babylonian Empire|Chaldean dynasty] died in 5th century BC, the word "Chaldean" disappeared from the world...until 1553 AD (2000 years after the fall of Chaldean-Babylonian empire.) Un until 1553 AD, all of us Assyrians were Orthodox. But as the Catholic empire succeded in converting many of us to Catholicism, the majority of us Assyrians became Catholic. Well since this happened, the Roman Church had to create a Church for us, and thus in 1553, the Church was offical called "The Chaldean Catholic Church". Note that when we say the word Chaldean today, it has nothing to do with Chaldeans in ancient times.

Read this nice article; [[1]] Note this part; "When such a patriarch was elected in 1552, a group of Assyrian bishops refused to accept him and decided to seek union with Rome. They elected the reluctant abbot of a monastery, Yuhannan Sulaka, as their own patriarch and sent him to Rome to arrange a union with the Catholic Church. In early 1553 Pope Julius III proclaimed him Patriarch Simon VIII “of the Chaldeans” and ordained him a bishop in St. Peter’s Basilica on April 9, 1553."

Nice meeting you by the way :) I know there are many Assyrians in Australia. Chaldean 12:59, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Zivio

I have read many posts where Serbs try to put Serbian Pov on anything to do with Croatia or Croat people. This went on for far too long. I argued too..but that is foolish and that looks stupid in the eyes of all other backgrounds who read our discussion pages. The solution is to make friends with the Serbs in question and get them to agree on what cahnges are fair. Guys like Panonian who's a Serb is fair and i think most Serbs have seen the injustice on Wiki and helped clean it up. It's only a small minority of Serbs that try to make trouble on Wiki...best to leave them alone...over time they will lose the will to keep editing as the truth comes out anyway. I just don't understand why they keep changing the facts or facts as the world knows them. Weird, odd Serb minority.

Take Care Jagoda 1 23:09, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Impersonators

First off, you might want to have a look at this. Don't give these people attention, and they will eventually get bored and go away. If it happens again please let me know. As for the threats, if I were you I'd just ignore them, but if you really are concerned you might try asking Blnguyen about it. —Khoikhoi 01:23, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Rights

From what i can see any TOM, DICK and HARRY can edit on Wiki hhaha. It's important for Croats on Wiki to keep Serb Pov out of anything to do with pages about Croats and Croatia. I strongly dislike such things as Rudjer Josip Boscovich article where he is being called Serb when he was Croat. The Serb Pov on that and many articles is not on. Vuk Kardazic was a Serb patriot and his sources and theory are bougus at best...shame many Serbs believe him to this day. Jagoda 1 23:42, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Something to consider

Jakov, simply report him to Blnguyen, mikka, or some other admin and he will be blocked as a trolling account. In the meantime, please ignore him. —Khoikhoi 05:59, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!

Junior tennis

I think your intentions are very good -- but that your English is very limited. You really should change your home page to say that you speak "Advanced English", not "Professional Level". Almost everything you write has to be heavily edited. That's OK, though, all of us have to be edited at times. But I strongly disagree with your whole bit about the Juniors -- ALL sports have junior programs. Why are you so concerned about writing about the tennis juniors? It is, I think, a boring subject, of very little interest to anyone reading the Tennis article, and you are putting in FAR too much detail. I don't know if I'll bother to edit what you've just written -- it needs so much editing that I don't want to waste my time. Probably someone else will come along and just delete the whole section again. Once again: welcome to Wiki, and your edits are v. welcome -- but, you must learn to contain yourself and not try to put in too much info that is of no general interest. Why don't you start a SEPARATE article called Junior Tennis? Hayford Peirce 03:37, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Medibank

Hey Jakov! To move a page, just click on the "move" button to the right of the "edit this page" button. As for the vandals, it's no big deal, thanks for your kind words however. :-) Khoikhoi 19:34, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

No need to change Medibank

The Australian Open is so-named because that's what the tournament officials, in conjunction with corporate sponsors, decide to calll it. Check out the tournament's official website here [2]. There is no reference to the tournament being titled the "NSW Open" - all media coverage, press releases etc. refer to the tournament as the Medibank International. The official site itself uses the title "Medibank International." There is no need to change this article's title because that is the name that the tournament gives itself. Changing the article's title will not reflect the true name of the tournament.--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 23:29, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't aware of the winners board - thanks for bringing it to my attention. Including both names sounds like a good compromise, I'm happy to go with that. Perhaps the page NSW Open should also be created, redirecting to this article for people who are unaware of the "Medibank International" part.--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 02:44, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Diocesan Infobox

To the Members of the WikiProject Catholicism

I have proposed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Catholicism an infobox for Catholic Dioceses. I have not gotten any feedback on this proposal, so I’m culling feedback, advice, corrections, etc. for this. If you have the time, would you check out User:SkierRMH/Diocese_Infobox and give me some feedback! Thanks much!!

Juraj Julije Klović

Hi Jakov,

Please remember the vote is only on the name issue, which your comments did not refer to. I agree with you re his nationality being Croatian, but that is a different question, which I hope we do not need to take a vote on. Regarding the name, Giulio Clovio is clearly the most commonly used name in English, which obviously is the key criterion here. Johnbod 14:20, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
