Jakob Trollbäck

Jakob Trollbäck is the founder and creative director of New York-based creative studio Trollbäck + Company. The Swedish self-taught designer is an acknowledged industry leader in branding and motion graphics design, best known for his clean, consistent and concept-driven design.
Born and raised in Stockholm, the former DJ saw a move to New York in the early nineties. After several years at R/GA, Jakob founded Trollbäck + Company with his wife Lisa in 1999. Since its beginnings, T+Co has produced a wide range of acclaimed work, including film titles, network branding campaigns, TV-commercials, environmental design, music videos and publication design. Clients include top TV networks CBS, AMC, HBO, TNT, and Sundance Channel; film companies HBO Films, Fox Searchlight and Miramax; and advertising clients like Nike, Volvo, Fidelity and Jaguar.
Jakob is a member of the Art Directors Club’s Board of Directors and of the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Board of Trustees. He has lectured and taught at the Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons, School of Visual Arts and Yale, as well as presented at numerous AIGA conferences and chapters across the nation, the Broadcast Designers Association Conference, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, TED Conferences and the How Design Conference, among others.
T+Co is currently being showcased at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum’s “National Design Triennial: Design Life Now” in New York City through July 29, 2007. The exhibition will spotlight a range of Trollbäck’s recent projects.
