Jake Robel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jacob "Jake" D. Robel (November 28, 1993-February 22, 2000) was a six-year-old Blue Springs, Missouri, boy who died Independence, Missouri when a carjacker, Kim L. Davis, 34, stole the car Robel was sitting in alone with the engine running while his mother was inside a nearby fast-food store. Davis thought he had thrown Robel out of the vehicle, but Robel became tangled in his seatbelt and was dragged four miles down the interstate, leading to his death.
Davis had been released earlier that day from a Carroll County jail just hours before stealing Christy Robel's car from the parking lot of the Mr. Goodcents shop at Missouri 291 and Hidden Valley Road in Independence, Missouri. It was later learned that Davis had outstanding warrants in other Missouri jurisdictions and should have been retained to answer for those warrants.
