Jake Logan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jake Logan is a fictional character from the game Tachyon: The Fringe by Novalogic.
Jake has a pronounced ironic sense of humor, and is often found questioning orders from his superiors. He is somewhat of a womanizer, and has the habit of hitting on most of the women he comes across during the game (He even dates his superior, Tricia Bales, should the player choose to side with Galspan or Anna Highfall, should the player choose Bora.) Nonetheless, Jake is a very competent pilot, and even though he often disagrees with orders that are given to him, he does what is necessary to accomplish them.
[edit] Biography
Jacob Kyle Logan was born in a rural hospital in New Osaka, Mars, on April 12, 2474. His father, James Logan, was the owner of a small bar in the outskirts of the city, and his mother, Linda, worked as a public relations mananger for a corporation. In the summer, he spent his time with his father, helping him in the bar, and befriending the inhabitants of the small town, and in the rest of his time, he accompanied his mother from planet to planet, as she was charged with overseeing many corporate offices. He liked to travel with his mother, as well as the independence of the small town his father dwelled. He then decided that he would become a star pilot.
When he was 14, He had the first taste of real emotion, as the ship he was traveling with his mother was hijacked by pirates. The pirates killed the ship's captain and tied all passengers. While the Star Patrol was attempting to negotiate the release of the hostages, Jacob managed to untie himself and sneak through the ventilation shafts of the ship, and eventually reached the bridge. After seizing the controls of the ship, Jake tried to pull it away from the pirate cruiser. He, unfortunately, had no piloting experience, and instead he made the ship spiral toward its own axis. Caught by surprise, the pirates were thrown against the ship's hull, and bounced inside it. This gave Star Patrol the opportunity they needed to thwart the pirate's ambitions. Thus, Jake became a hero.
When he got older, he enrolled himself at the renowmed Ogden piloting school located in the moon of Telesto, Saturn. Unlike many other students, he did not have a corporate or a military sponsor, and had to work at two different jobs to pay the tuition. Most of his classmates decided for a safe and promising career within Star Patrol's ranks, but Jake wanted to make his own path, and thus, became an independent pilot, assuming great risks for smalls sums of money. Later, jake was offered a stable position within the Advanced Ganymede Technologies, who saw him as a very promising pilot. Jake quickly rose inside AGT, and became known as a quick-witted and resourceful pilot, who was able to remain calm even in the most difficult situations.
