Jail

Jail is commonly used as a synonym of prison, a place in which individuals are physically confined and deprived of personal freedoms. Other uses:
- Jail (American), a place for short-term confinement
- Chroot jail, a command on Unix operating systems
- Jail (computer security), a generic name for a sandbox mechanism which works by imposing additional resource limits on programs
- FreeBSD jail, a FreeBSD environment tied to a single IP address
- A location on the board game Monopoly
