[edit] Outing and its effects
The story of her outing and its affect on her showgirl career was featured in The National Enquirer in an article entitled "'Sexiest show girl' in Vegas fired because she used to be a MAN!" [3]
After being fired from Crazy Girls Revue, Jahna was a frequent talk show guest and sang in nightclubs across the United States before moving to Hawaii. She also appeared as a guest star in a second-season episode of NYPD Blue ("Don We Now Our Gay Apparel"), playing the character Candace La Rue. The episode starred Dennis Franz and was written by David Milch and Steven Bochco (Screen story) and by Channing Gibson and Charles Eglee (teleplay). Michael Robin directed the episode [4]. In addition, Jahna returned to school, and "learned how to do things other than entertaining so that" she'd "have something to fall back on, studying "computer courses" and working "for United Blood Services" before she "worked for a woman's heath facility" and "got certified in nonprofit management" [5].
[edit] "Now We Don Our Gay Apparel" episode of NYPD Blue (plot)
According to Hal Erickson's summary of the episode's storyline in All Movie Guide, "The owner of a gay bar is killed and a suspect is hauled in. The pregnant wife of Lt. Fancy (James McDaniel) goes into a very difficult labor. Medavoy (Gordon Clapp) investigates when a neighbor breaks out in a rash, ostensibly the result of a curse invoked by a crooked fortuneteller. And Dan Breen (Peter Boyle), the AA sponsor for Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz), ignores Andy's advice and pays a visit to his disturbed son Danny (Enrico Colantoni) -- with tragic results" [6].
[edit] Transsexual beauty contest hosetss
In 2004, Jahna hosted a transsexual beauty contest at the Riviera Casino [7]. Her singing career continues. She is the spokesperson for Tingari Skin Care System [8]. Jehna is working on her "kiss-and-tell" autobiography, Always a Lady [9].
