Jahanian

Jahanian (Urdu: جہانیاں) is ( officially a Tehsil of Distt. Khanewal) town near Multan.

Jahanian has a rich history, specially it is estimated that Muhammad Bin Qasim, The first Muslim invader in sub-continent passed through this area in the way to Multan. Earlier than this, it is believed that Alexander the Great also left some marks during the conquest of this area. This all is an assumption and no practical or historical proof can be presented on the spot. But geographics and historic paths do prove this argument. Jahanian is named after the famous and influential saint "Jahanian Jahan Gasht", who preached the teachings of Islam, in this area during 18th century AD. The famous personalities of jahanian are : Qazi Zahoorullah(Late) Muhammad Sadiq(a.k.a LaLa Sahraii)(Late) Hakeem Mohammad Abdullah(Late) The town has its own Boys and girls degree college,THQ Hospital,Court,parks. No doubt This city produce many familiar and famous personels but over all its education level is very low. It is an agriculture town and all its resources under Landlord occupation. The town itself has about one hundred thousand residents, and is one of the cleanest towns in the southern Punjab. The majority of the people in the Jhania tehsil live in the countryside. There are numerous villages ranging in size from 500 people to 5,000. One of the villages in the tehsil is 104/10.R, also know as Purana Char.
