Jagdgeschwader 73

Jagdgeschwader 73 (Fighter Wing 73) "Steinhoff" is a fighter wing of the Luftwaffe. The wing is based in north-eastern Germany at Rostock-Laage.

  • JG 73 was the only wing of the Luftwaffe in united Germany that flew the MiG-29.
  • JG 73 is also the first wing of the Luftwaffe to receive the Eurofighter Typhoon.
  • JG 73 received its first six (twin-seat) Eurofighter Typhoons on 30 April 2004.[1]
