[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello Jacobeiler, welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Please don't create articles about subjects that fail the Wikipedia:Notability guidelines. Also note that anything you contribute is released under the terms of the GFDL license. Here are some tips for editing:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. There are also the help pages for self-help and the village pump and IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. You should also feel free to ask me on my Talk page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes(~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, however, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person. Again, welcome! —WAvegetarian(talk) 23:12, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jacob Eiler

I will have an article written up within the hour. The reason for the strong reaction to your posting the original article was, regrettably, due to stereotypes within the Wikipedia community that evolved to make things go more quickly most of the time. First, anything that has a copyright notice in it gets booted as being non-compatible and most likely promotional. Second, any time a teenager writes a biography the article is viewed with intense suspicion due to the amount of vanity pieces we get. Third, any time someone writes about themselves the article is jumped on almost instantly due to the concerns laid out at WP:AUTO. Your contribution didn't fit those stereotypes exactly, and I feel particularly bad given the nature of why you became notable. I do hope you contribute other articles to Wikipedia. You will find that Wikipedia is a very diverse place that quells bigotry. In case you get harassed here, I refer you to WP:NPA. We have a very good internal dispute resolution system, so although you have had to use lawyers in the past, please respect WP:NLT if it becomes an issue. Again, welcome to Wikipedia!—WAvegetarian(talk) 00:09, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I got sidetracked by food :), so it will be another half hour or so. —WAvegetarian(talk) 01:07, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Finally done. Tracking down news articles from 9 years ago is really hard. Please correct any factual errors you find. —WAvegetarian(talk) 02:30, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok... where did you get that sexually molesting patients from?? jacobeiler.net 03:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

(responded via email) But for those interested, it came from the Oasis Magazine profile linked to under references. —WAvegetarian(talk) 08:03, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your article

Hi Jacob, I've added a notice to your article's talk page noting that you've edited your own article. This is standard practice on articles about people who are also Wikipedia editors themselves, so don't take it the wrong way. It also adds you to the category of Notable Wikipedians. --Grace 05:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
