Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself.
- Read the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox.
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk or ask me on my talk page.
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Jrdioko
P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
[edit] Stations
Hi. I see you;'re adding some stations. Could you check out the format and links on some of the existing stations, and maybe follow the established pattern? Links from UK railway stations - C, for instance, point to existing station articles. Thanks. --Tagishsimon
[edit] Textiles
Definitely wants an update. There is quite a lot of good stuff in the [[1911 encyclopaedia]as a basis. If you don't have one I suggest you get a good ASCII text editor and download the raw texts from the EB onto pages on that. Work on it offline and then upload into the finished result into the Wiki editor for the final tweaking. I use note Tab Pro. The link I put on the bottom of thre textile pages a few days ago has a lot of very good stuff indeed on weaving Apwoolrich 17:36, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Copyrights, stubs, and the watchlist
Thanks for your questions on my talk page. I apologize for not responding more promptly, but I was away from Wikipedia for a while due to some personal issues. I don't have the time to fully answer your questions here, but, if you haven't already, I'd suggest asking at the Help desk where someone can help you better. Good luck! – Jrdioko (Talk) 03:08, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Women as theological figures
Hi there- I noticed your plea for non-Western religion contributions on the Buddhism talk page. I've got a very rough sketch of a structure for the article as a whole on one of my scratch pages- take a look at User:Spasemunki/temp2 if you're so inclined. In terms of naming, I was thinking that maybe 'Women in Religion' was most appropriate- my personal bias is against using 'theology' since my primary intereset is Buddhism, and we're sort of short a 'theos' (I have seen 'Buddhology' used for consistancy from time to time, which I remain a bit ambivalent about). I'm wondering if you think what I have whomped together should start a seperate article, or if there is some good way to incorporate it with what's already on the WATF page. I'm sure that the Christian and Muslim sections are a bit pathetic, but it's mostly meant as a 'proof of concept'. --Clay Collier 11:15, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Merged page into Alien invasion, as you requested. Sharaith 11:08, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Gex
Could you add more detail about the compromise reached between Switzerland and France? If the info is only in French, I'd be happy to translate it. (I live in Gex!) UrsusMaximus 22:21, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] de:Schreibgerät
Hi, I was just thinking of removing this from the G-E translation request list (as the German article is just a series of interwiki links) and adding it to the E-G translation request list - is that OK with you? Saint|swithin 14:58, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hillingdon Borough Libraries
Can 2.85.6.26 being the IP for the above be unblocked please - as it has been blocked for some time, and whoever set off the problem has surely gone away (while I want to contribute to Wikipedia). Jackiespeel 15:02, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hello! I have been working away from the Internet for most of the past week, so I have only picked up your e-mail to me tonight/this morning. I have unblocked 82.198.250.77 as requested. I will ask you to keep an eye on the contributions from this IP address and alert an Administrator when signs of vandalism become apparent. Regards, (aeropagitica) (talk) 00:21, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- In relation to your comment here, you may want to have your say at this discussion. Thanks, Ansell 09:16, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Editing Wikipedia
As the two library systems I tend to use have a default status of blocked IPs, I will be doing much less with Wikipedia, until an alternative system is developed.

[edit] Hungarian Revolution of 1956
Hi Jackiespeel, long ago you were active in editing this article and even asked about its 50th anniversary. You may be interested to know it is a Featured article candidate now and we hope to see it up on the main page on 23 Oct. If you have a moment, perhaps you could browse by and give a review (its come a long way). Thanks in advance, Istvan 08:24, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Former Countries
I would like to invite you back to WikiProject Former countries. You were previously a member of its former incarnation WP Historical States. The objective of this project is still to improve the content and accessibility of articles on former countries. A taskforce for the states of the Holy Roman Empire has also been started and the child project on Prussia has also been revived. This restart is still in its early days but it would be great to have you back. - 52 Pickup 18:55, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Le Palais du Thés
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Le Palais du Thés, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Le Palais du Thés. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] Failed history
I don't see anything about Edward VIII coronation notepaper at Talk:Chiltern Hundreds. If you had replied on Talk:Failed history or my user talk page (instead of e-mailing me), I would have gotten back to you several months earlier... AnonMoos 11:06, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: Failed history
An article that you have been involved in editing, Failed history, has been listed by me at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Failed history. Please look there to see why this is, if you are interested in whether it should be deleted. Thank you. —Mira 07:38, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- It does not look like it is going to make it. I personally think it could make a good article if you could find reference to support it and make it more encyclopedic. Jeepday 04:50, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ruthenium (II) tris (bathophenantroline disulfonate)
You have requested cleanup of Ruthenium (II) tris (bathophenantroline disulfonate)
Can someone translate this into something approaching English? Jackiespeel
I have read the article and I found it well written. Maybe it uses specialized language, but I consider that such kind of words should be common knowledge for someone who is looking for information about Ruthenium (II) tris (bathophenantroline disulfonate).
I have tagged the article as "insuficient context" {{context}}. If consider this is not applicable please modify it.
Will whoever wrote the above please sign it. The article does not make sense to anyone who is not familiar with the subject (as someone else has added)
