Jacqueline Beer

Jacqueline Beer (born October 14, 1932 in Paris, France) is a former Hollywood film and television actress and the present Chair of the Board of Directors of the Thor Heyerdahl Research Centre.
Beer is probably best known for her role in the highly popular television series 77 Sunset Strip playing the beautiful secretary Suzanne Fabray from 1958 to 1963. She appeared in secondary or minor roles in several popular motion pictures including Pillow Talk in 1959 and 1963's The Prize. Her last performance came in 1979 after a thirteen-year hiatus when she had a role in the all star cast of the television miniseries, The French Atlantic Affair.
In 1991 Jacqueline Beer married the noted marine biologist Thor Heyerdahl whom she met in Güímar on the Spanish island of Tenerife. She became part of his work and used her skills as an amateur photographer. After his death in 2002, she remained very active in the Thor Heyerdahl Research Centre in Aylesbury, UK and is Chair of the Board of Directors.
