Jacob Pleydell-Bouverie, 4th Earl of Radnor was born on 18 September 1815 and died on 11 March 1889. He was the son of William Pleydell-Bouverie, 3rd Earl of Radnor and Judith Anne St. John-Mildmay. He married Lady Mary Augusta Frederica Grimston, daughter of James Walter Grimston, 1st Earl of Verulam, on 3 October 1840. They had twelve children:
