Jacob Nena

Jacob Nena (born October 10, 1941) is a Micronesian political figure who served as the fourth president of the Federated States of Micronesia from 1996 to 1999. He had served as vice-president under Bailey Olter; after Olter suffered a stroke in July 1996, Nena took over as acting president on November 8 of that year and was sworn in as president on May 8, 1997, serving out the remaining two years of Olter's term. Before becoming vice-president and president, Nena served as governor of Kosrae from 1979 to 1983.
