Jackson is a city in Jackson County, Ohio, United States. The population was 6,184 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Jackson County^GR6.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 20.1 km² (7.8 mi²). 19.5 km² (7.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (3.22%) is water.
