Jackie Manuel

Jackie Kameron Manuel (born March 29, 1983 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is an American professional basketball player. He gained fame as a college basketball player for the North Carolina Tar Heels from 2001-2005. A guard, he is listed at 6' 5" and 189 lbs. Manuel was recently selected by the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League expansion draft.[1]
Manuel was a key member and one of three captains of the UNC's 2005 National Championship team. The championship, which capped Manuel's senior season, marked a remarkable turnaround. Jackie and his cohort had endured a nightmarish freshman season under coach Matt Doherty when the Tar Heels compiled an 8-20 record.
Manuel was popular with many Tar Heel fans because of his excellent defense and hustle. "Jackie Manuel has a Posse" T-shirts achieved a cult status and are still proudly worn by his many fans. He was married in August 2005. In 2005 he was injured most of the D-League season he was signed by the Fayetville Patriots but did not play one game due to injury. In 2006 he was selected by the LA D-Fenders in the NBDL the LA Lakers very own D-League team. He is a leading scorer and might get called up to the Lakers very soon.
Manuel won two state championships at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida.
