Jackie Barnes (born Feb 4, 1986 in Sydney, Australia) is the son and drummer of Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes.

At the age of 5 along with sisters Elly-May, E-J and Mahalia Barnes, Jackie was a part of the children's group the Tin Lids (after Glaswegian rhyming-slang for "kids") who had 3 platinum albums spanning over several years. They were nominated for an Australian Recording Industry Association award for best childrens album. He is also the half brother of Australian Singer and actor David Campbell.

Jackie was first introduced to the drums by Tony Brock who played in Jimmy Barnes's band. Jackie attended The Cranbrook School Sydney, Australia from 1996, graduating in 2003. He learned for 8 years from Tony Jex where he studied mainly Rock, jazz and funk styles. Following graduation Jackie started playing in clubs and touring as a percussionist and drummer with such bands as Mahalia Barnes, Nick Hardcastle, Sophie and Kia and Suite Az. In early 2005 he joined the Jimmy Barnes band officially as the keyboard player and percussionist and in early 2006 he became the drummer, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

He recorded the song "Same Woman" as a duet with father Jimmy Barnes on the 2005 album Double Happiness which topped the Australian Recording Industry Association charts. Since then he has been able to work with such great artists as John Swan, Jade Macrae, Gary Pinto, Steve Morse, Bob Daisley, Andrew Roachford, Johnny Diesel and Glen Hughes to name a few. He also did some writing with Steve Morse and Bob Daisley for a new Living Loud album.

He is currently studying a Bachelor of music majoring in drum performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. At Berklee he has been able to study with such greats as Kenwood Dennard and Eguie Castrillo. He is now learning from former Jean-Luc Ponty drummer Casey Scheuerell.
