Jack Stamp

Jack Stamp is a highly regarded North American Wind Ensemble conductor and composer.

He has nearly sixty compositions available from Neil A Kjos Music Company, including the extremely popular Gavorkna Fanfare, which was dedicated to Eugene Corporon. In 1993, he formed the Keystone Winds, comprised of students, alumni and professors at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which has been recorded on 15 CDs.

Dr. Jack Stamp is Conductor of Bands and Professor of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He teaches courses in conducting to graduates and undergrads, and conducts the Symphony Band and the Wind Ensemble.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master's in Percussion Performance from East Carolina University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Conducting from Michigan State University. While at Michigan State University, he studied with Eugene Corporon.

Before joining the faculty of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he was chairman of the Division of Fine Arts at North Carolina's Campbell University. He in the public schools of North Carolina and was conductor of the Duke University Wind Symphony (1988-89) and musical director of the Triangle British Brass Band.

He studied with Robert Washburn, Fisher Tull, David Diamond, Joan Tower and Richard Danielpour.

Dr. Stamp is an active composer, clinician, adjudicator and guest conductor throughout North America and Great Britain. Leading university bands and military bands have commissioned his works and he has been praised by many prominent American composers.
