Jack Squirek played Linebacker for the Raiders from 1982-1985 and played two games for the Miami Dolphins in 1986. He is known for his famous interception in Super Bowl XVIII against the Washington Redskins: Before the end of the first half, a Raiders drive stalled when Jim Plunkett's 3rd down pass fell incomplete, but Ray Guy's 27-yard punt pinned Washington back at their own 12-yard line with 12 seconds left in half. On the first play of their drive, Squirek intercepted Joe Theismann's screen pass and returned it for a touchdown to give the Raiders a 21-3 halftime lead. The defense was prepared for the play, as Theismann had successfully completed an identical screen pass to Joe Washington for a 67-yard gain in their 37-35 victory over the Raiders on October 2, 1982.
