Jack Snyder was a DJ in the Los Angeles area from the early 1970s into the early 1990s. His resume includes: KEZY/FM, 1973-77; KMET, 1977-82; KLOS, 1984-85; KMET, 1985-87; KLSX, 1991-92. Jack is working as an artist manager in New Orleans while still recovering from Hurricane Katrina and is happily married.
He is best known for his time at rock and roll legend, KMET, 94.7 in Los Angeles. Jack was an on air DJ, program director, occasionally a fisherman on the "Fish Report With A Beat" and was even heard doing the news now and again. Jack's awesome bass voice cracked as he tearfully broke the news of John Lennon's shooting and death to a generation of people in Los Angeles. Jack artfully conducted the famous "Off The Record" interviews in which anyone who someone in rock and roll would have the chance to tell their story. Mary Turner dubbed her voice over Jack's for the broadcast of the show, due to contract issues at Westwood One. Jack announced hundreds of concerts and helped many rock legends break into the business. Jack was drawn back to KMET from KLOS and then was fired along with the rest of the KMET staff during the "Valentine's Day Massacre" of 1987. For some reason,(unable to manage their free spirits?)the ownership of the station decided to shut down the "Mighty Met", a rock and roll touchstone and replace it with the "Wimpy Wave" a new age borefest which is still on the air. Jack was one of the biggest angels who made KMET, a "Little Bit Of Heaven" at 94.7 for throngs of listeners.
