A photograph of market gardener[1] Jack Laity taken by aquaintance[2] Gay Evans appears on a 2000 Australian stamp which was part of the "Face of Australia" stamp sheetlet. Described as a lovable character on the Australia Post website, Bruthen, Victoria, resident Laity was a former rabbiter.[3]

He suffered from multiple sclerosis.[4]

He is to be distinguished from other individuals with the same name,[5] including one apparently once wanted by the FBI.[6]
