[edit] adminship
If you want to work toward reviving my chances for adminship, fine by me. I'm tired of arguing over the things in question, but I certainly will accept if given the status. -- BRG 17:54, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Salt n' Vinegar
I'm not a big fan of those synthetic Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips. True happiness comes from drowning a box of boardwalk French fries with vinegar. You cannot deny its acidic goodness. Acetic'Acid 06:31, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Laboratory
In case you didn't see, I dropped you a little note on your lab's talk page. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 15:09, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, one more question there. (give me a minute to add it there) --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 15:34, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
No, no partucular reason for picking September 2004. (Just thought it would be a good place to start) I am probably half way done, so if you don't mind, could we do 2005 plus Sept. 2004? I would hate to lose all the info I've already collected. But if you don't think that's a good idea, I will start somewhere else. It is your project, and I don't want to step on your toes. Whatever you decide is perfectly okay with me. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 19:38, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- No article is yours, you are correct, but this was in your userspace, so I figured I would follow your lead. Depending on how much time I have, I'll finish up with 9-2004 tomorrow. See ya. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 19:47, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
What should we define as "long time" or "high edit count"? Is 6 months long? 2000 edits high? 3 months? 3000 edits? We need some sort of parameters here. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 20:49, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
The thing about the phrase "high edit count" is that this is what a supporter said directly. If they gave an actual number then write the number. If not then write what they say i.e. Low edit count, Been here long enough, etc. These things still give us an idea about wikipedias administrator ideology. Jaberwocky6669 | ☎ 20:56, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
And how loose should we be on the adjectives? Is it our judgment call to decide if something is alike? For instance, "attention to detail" and "meticulous". Should I be lumping these together, or are we looking for specific phrases? --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 21:10, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- Personally I think doing it like this would be good:
Ex:
- Meticulous -- Attentive to detail -- Watchful eye (8)
Jaberwocky6669 | ☎ 21:31, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Hmmm... I think i messed up somewhere along the lines. I am just going to scrap Sept. 2004 for now, and pick up somewhere in 2005. This time I'll be more careful. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 21:33, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Don't necessarily think it was your mess-up. I prematurely introduced this project before working out the finer points. I also have made major changes to the tally sheet too. ANyway I can see what you've done so far? Jaberwocky6669 | ☎
Thanks for your message - I have replied to the talk page of the Laboratory. Regards--User:AYArktos | Talk 00:27, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- I do not think we have to do every month or even every case in every month. I think if we do half the cases every third month for both successful and unsuccessful and try to get at the gist of what it is that people are looking for in that month, we may understand the changes over time. I won't get to the unsuccessful for August until tomorrow morning (24 hours since I am in Australia). I will have a look at May 2005 over the next few days too by way of comparison. I am using excel to tally the results and it is a pretty quick run through on the basis that the nuances of comments aren't differentiated and recording is only once per candidate in the course of the vote. Why candidacies fail is almost certainly the interesting question. If an unsuccessfully resolved controversy is raised the oppose votes seem to snowball even though the voters weren't involved. --User:AYArktos | Talk 01:32, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- I placed some comments about unsuccessful August 2005 candidacies on the Laboratory talk page. Regards--User:AYArktos | Talk 23:59, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

- sorry didn't use your tally sheets - used Excel instead. Regards--User:AYArktos | Talk 01:39, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] I am heartfully sorry
I am so sorry Jaber. I am going to have to tumble the building down and pull out of this project at this point. I hate to do this since I am very interested in it, I just simply do not have the time to pursue this right now. Perhaps I'll peek my head in once in a while, to check up on things or make suggestions, but I will be unavailable to do a lot of the actual grunt work. I am so sorry to leave you down another editor, but I must leave. I hope you understand that it is nothing against you or the project, it is a personal issue I'm having at this point in time. I hope everything continues to go well with you. Again, I am sorry. Cheers my friend. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 14:34, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Burlington
I've zoomed past Burlington before on I-40, but never stopped :-). I lived in Charlotte from 1991 through 1993.....turned 21 there, remember very little of that day. I miss it sometimes. Always something to do and the people were nice. Oh, yeah—Ni! :-) >: Roby Wayne Talk • Hist • E@ 18:38, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

Hello Esperanzians! A few announcements.
The Advisory Committee election results are in. In tranch A are Acetic Acid and Flcelloguy. In tranch B are Ryan Norton and Bratsche.
My other annoouncement is that our founder, JCarriker, has founded Esperanza's sister project, Wikipediology. I have written two essays here (my name is Matt Binder). My essays are under Teenage Wikipedians and Anon Editors.
On behalf of myself and Jay Carriker and the other wikipediologists, I would appreciate it if you were to join.
Cheers Esperanza! Redwolf24 (talk—How's my driving?) 23:34, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks so much for the Wikithanks award
Dear Jaberwocky:
Thank you so much for giving me some recognition for posting my father's old photos from Suriname of Maroon people there. It is good to know that one's work is seen and appreciated. It gives me encouragement to keep on contributing (even though I am really busy with other things). Cheers, John Hill.
[edit] Thanks for the message
Thanks for the message you left in my profile! You're an elegant player too. :) Fetofs 11:09, 11 November 2005 (UTC) P.S: If you want another game should I erase Game III or create another section like "Game V"?
- Jaberwocky, did you forget the game? You said that it was "coming up this Sunday"...
[edit] C.F. Martin Bass
Ive put all our correspondence on Talk:C.F. Martin & Company to tidy my talk page. Maybe you want to move my replies to you there as well? Ive also added some new info on the EB 18 to that article.--Light current 23:38, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
Jaber..Have a look at the Cf Martin page. Ive put some photos of our bass there now. Sorry for delay. I'm trying to sell mine but at least Ill have some photogrphic memories. Any comments on photos appreciated. Is it exactly the same as yours?--88.109.11.210 20:11, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipediology
I'd like to ask those fellows who have not indicated whether or not they grant permission for a wikibio on them to please do so soon. I'd also appreciate it everyone could expand or create the wikibios for which permission has been granted. The wikibio project simply won't be useful unless fellows actively participate; so I'd like to issue a challenge that each fellow contribute at least one sentence to two wikibios. I'll be on wikibreak for the next week and when I get back there will be prizes in store for the fellows who have the three highest edit counts on wikibios. Thanks. -JCarriker 22:45, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WP:MIND
Hello. Round four of Wikipedia Mind Benders will open on Thursday, December 1. This round will be drastically different from round three; part one will consist of a creative project, and part two will be developed from there. The full details will be released when the round opens. Time and speed should not be major factors in this round; thus, there is no exact opening time for the round as speed will not factor into the scoring. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:04, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Please add Wikipedia:Mind Benders/to do to your watchlist to receive further announcements; the NotificationBot is currently down and all notifications will be placed on that page. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Note: This message has been sent by Flcelloguy. If you do not wish to receive further messages regarding WP:MIND, please contact Flcelloguy. Special thanks to Fetofs for helping distribute this message.
[edit] Wikipediology Elections

[edit] License tagging for Image:The innocence mission - christ is my hope.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:The innocence mission - christ is my hope.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 01:50, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
