J P Nagar is a locality in Bangalore, India.The Jayaprakash Narayan Nagar ( JP Nagar ) was created during period of Ramakrishna Hegde as chief minister.This locality was basically a residential area in the beginning. The area was dotted with bungalows and independent houses.The Information Technolgy boom in Bangalore in late 1990s and early 2000 converted it into a semi commercial area. It also led to rise of Apartment residential system. Infosys has a centre in this locality.
