Jung Jae Young, known as her stage name J, is a K-pop singer. A Korean-American born May 2, 1978, she was discovered in a beauty pageant for Koreans in Washington [1]. That allowed her to travel to Korea to become a singer, with her first album Gold/Blue coming out in 1998. It wasn't until her second album In Love, though, that she achieved great success, with her single "어제처럼" (Like Yesterday) going to #1 on the various Korean TV network charts. Although she has released many albums since, her second album and third albums have been her biggest hits. J released a digital single in 2006 and sang the duet "Perhaps Love", the theme song for Princess Hours (Goong), with new singer HowL; due to the show's popularity, the theme song became popular as well. She has also contributed to other soundtracks.

She released her last album, In My Lifetime, in early January 2007. She is currently on tour and has a concert in Hawaii in early March.[citation needed] She is also currently in the studio to release her next album which is to be released in April of 2007.[citation needed]
