You will have to upload that on to Wikipedia's servers. BUT if the picture isn't yours, you should instead take your own picture of the school. Then upload that photo on Wikipedia. WhisperToMe 04:50, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Openpic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Openpic.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Openpic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Openpic.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 19:01, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Escuela Secundaria Lamar
Hi there, Jesse! Am I guessing correctly that you intend to translate Lamar High School (Houston) into Spanish? (and possibly, other languages as well?) The reason I am so curious is not just the merry season :) -- but that's because here, in the English section of wikipedia, only material in English will stay. Wikipedia is a multilingual project but currently, there are separate wiki-s for every language (Spanish, French, Hebrew...). Anything posted here in a foreign language is either supposed to be translated into English or - sorry to say - will be deleted. Since there is an English article for Lamar High already... you guessed it.
What I think we should do with the Spanish version you just wrote, is move it to the Spanish wikipedia. You may need to upload the picture of your school over there anew, or, better yet, upload it to commons and that way, your picture will become automagically available in every language wiki.
When you will have your Escuela Secundaria Lamar article created over there, please don't forget just one more quick step: link it back to Lamar High School (Houston) by way of using an interwiki (that is to say, simply add at the very bottom of your new article page this bracketed line: [[en:Lamar High School (Houston)]].) Then, also link the English article to your newly created article in Spanish wiki in the same fashion. All done!
I hope I am making sense here to you but, if "not quite" :) -- or if you would like me to help you with the move, or should you have any question at all, just call me. You can either reply right here on your talk page (I will be watching for a few days) or write your reply at my talk page , or you are welcome to send me an email. You could also post a question or request for help on the page with requests for translation, that's where I listed your article... before I noticed the already existing English version. Cheers and best wishes for the holidays - Introvert • ~ 07:30, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hola, ya he redirigido Escuela Secundaria Lamar a Lamar High School (Houston), pero Ud. todavía puede hacer lo que Introvert dijo para trasferir el artículo en español a la Spanish Wikipedia. (Hi, I have already redirected Escuela Secundaria Lamar to Lamar High School (Houston), but you can still do what Interovert said to transfer the article in Spanish to the Spanish Wikipedia.) --Metropolitan90 22:43, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
