J.P. Darche

Jean-Philippe Sainte-Ôlve Darche, usually known as J.P. Darche, (born February 28, 1975 in Montreal, Quebec) is a National Football League long snapper/linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs. His brother Mathieu Darche is a professional hockey player. Darche formerly played for the Seattle Seahawks.

Like most Canadian kids, J.P. Darche's first love was hockey. It was his primary sport until high school, when he started football.
Baseball J.P. Darche played Bantam AA inter-city baseball with the St-Laurent Orioles.

J.P. Darche attended Collège Notre Dame in Montreal, Canada, where after his senior season, he was voted to participate in the Montreal High School All-Star football game.

J.P. Darche then attended Andre Grassett Junior College, where he was named Athlete of the Year.

J.P. Darche then attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he was a star middle linebacker on McGill Redmen football team for five seasons. He graduated from McGill with a BSc. in 1998, then entered McGill medical school for one year before turning pro in 1999.
[edit] Pro Career
After playing five seasons for McGill, J.P. Darche then turned pro with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in 1999. He played one season as a long snapper with the Argos before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in 2000,since then JP Darche has been responsible for the long snaps. He was released by the Seahawks in February 2007 after an injury in the season 2006.
