Dr. J. Buzz Von Ornsteiner (08/20/67) is an American forensic psychologist and psychology journalist.

[edit] Early life and career

He was born in Reno, Nevada, the child of Dr. Samuel Leo Von Ornsteiner, a psychologist, and Estelle Miller, a former parole officer.

After stints as a dancer on the New York City-based television show "This Week's Music" (1984) and as an actor in off-Broadway theater including La MaMa (1984), the green-eyed actor Von Ornsteiner found his way into films and quickly distinguished himself as consistent face in a number of 1980s slasher films: I Was a Teenage TV Terrorist, Zombie Death House, Munt Hunt, Necropolis, Robot Holocaust, The Deadly Reactor, The Big Slammer, Slash Dance, Provoked and Camera Obscura.

When this series of B-grade fright films failed to establish him as a major star, Von Ornsteiner who led a highly publicized New York/Hollywood social life headed back to Manhattan to study psychology. After completing 4 graduate degrees, Von Ornsteiner went on to complete his Ph.D. in Indiana in 1999.

As a licensed forensic psychologist working within the prison system and the Brooklyn courts Von Ornsteiner quickly became known to the public as "Dr. Buzz". First on his own New York City based call-in radio show, "Ask Dr. Buzz" (WWRL 1600 AM 2004-2006) and then appearing on national cable stations, CNN and Court TV as an expert analyst commenting on current high profile criminal cases on the following television shows, Nancy Grace, Jami Floyd: Best Defense and Bloom & Politan: Open Court.
