Very nice start to the article. Thank you. Sdr 22:43, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sean Bell

This may have been a mistake, but the section you added to Sean Bell was a direct quote from the cited Fox News article. Please be more careful in the future - a direct quotation without quotation marks is both plagiarism and a copyright violation. I have rewritten the section (as well as moving it to the background section, since it didn't really belong in the section on the incident). Natalie 17:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for spotting that - I'd merely re-added the text from a previous revision and didn't think to check for copy-vio. --J2thawiki 17:52, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
I suspected as much. I'll put a note on the original contributer of it. Thanks! Natalie 17:56, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Messages in articles

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. , note this refers to your inclusion of a blog site in the Tucker Max article, as blogs are not considered valid sources, nor are they considered acceptable external links. Please review the wikipedia policy at WP:EL and WP:RS. Continued inclusion of the paragraph and the blog is likely to be considered vandalism, as you have reverted to include it multiple times despite consensus from other editors against it. I wasn't aware of the WP:EL policy against blogs but am now, thanks. What paragraph did I include which I shouldn't? I wasn't aware I had added any commentary or personal analysis?--J2thawiki 12:24, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I cannot figure out what changes you made to the Children of Men article. Can you clarify?Arcayne 22:56, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

If you look at the Diff you'll see I fixed the broken ref tag as it was stopping the rest of the page from displaying --J2thawiki 10:53, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jeffrey Goldberg

If you dispute the facts regarding his treason, please use the talk function rather than simply reverting. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.19.89.120 (talk) 14:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC).

Asserting treason without providing a reliable source will be reverted. No discussion needed.--J2thawiki 14:23, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] David seddon

Hi, you and other admins have already speedy deleted David seddon lots of times but it keeps being recreated. Could you delete and salt to prevent recreation? Thanks. --J2thawiki 18:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for paying attention. :) --Fang Aili talk 18:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photomosaics

Hi. The issue of listing commercial products falls under Wiki's spam policy which I just reread. These listings clearly fall under that umbrella - which I learned when I tried to add a commercial company which was promptly removed by another moderator. Hallie. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.49.150.127 (talk) 18:30, 20 March 2007 (UTC).

Good point - I've removed the commercial products. --J2thawiki 18:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I removed Legend which just pointed to a hack site. Hallie.

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for reminding me for copyright violation. you are right. I have taken that text from that site.--JasZZZ Talk · Sign here 15:49, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Scholar Ship

Mike Bonner, the CEO of The Scholar Ship, is aware of the entry on The Scholar Ship and has been contacted directly by me by e-mail requesting copyright approval/permission for the information posted on the entry. This will be sent into Wikipedia as soon as it is returned to me.

This entry is in a similar framework to other international education (study abroad) programs/entries already listed on Wikipedia such as: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_Forest_Study_Abroad_Programs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_California_Education_Abroad_Program http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semester_at_Sea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._John%27s_University_%28Italy%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youth_For_Understanding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congress-Bundestag_Youth_Exchange http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFS_Intercultural_Programs

That's good. You still need to follow the procedure at Wikipedia:Requesting_copyright_permission though so people know that permission has been requested/granted. I still feel the article reads a bit like an advert though - for example "Onboard, students are immersed in a multicultural living environment" is clearly just promotional blurb as the boat hasn't even sailed yet so who knows what students will be immersed in! --J2thawiki 08:50, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of Irish people

Hi, I notice you removed a number of redlinks from List of Irish people, which certainly helps to clean that page up. However, I'm just wondering if this is the best policy? Many of the links you removed were not names I recognised, but some of them were, and just may not have wikis as yet. I'm just wondering if there's a "correct" stance on this? Is it just to remove redlinks from lists or to try and create wikis for them? If the former, there are still plenty of redlinks left on that page, if the latter, now no-one knows who these people are as they've been deleted? Just wondering what you think? --The.Q | Talk to me 12:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

You make good points, however I think most of the links removed were non-notables who had articles deleted or were added as promotional attempts to 'create' famous irish people.
The "list of Irish people" concept has potential to be very large so limiting it to people who have articles seems the easiest way of keeping it a sensible size. If there are notable people removed from the list then hopefully in the future they will have articles created and can be added to the list.
Ideally, you would add back in people you feel are notable and create stubs for them. I don't know of any policy on redlinks in lists but could be wrong... There are still lots of red links in the article as I got bored half way through as I realised how many there were! I guess my overall feeling is that there isn't much merit in having links to non-articles. --J2thawiki 12:26, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
I tend to agree with you, actually. I always hate to see those redlinks, especially in lists. But I was even lazier than you, and never did anything about them!! I may get rid of the rest of them myself today, and add a stub for one or two I noticed who are notable (or at least that I've heard of!). Cheers. --The.Q | Talk to me 13:56, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
