Izze Beverage Company
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Izze Beverage Company is the name of the company that produces and distributes the Izze line of fruit-derived carbonated soft drinks commonly sold at Starbucks. The company was founded in Boulder, Colorado by Todd Woloson and Greg Stroh in 2002.
The soda ingredients are a combination of fruit juice and seltzer water. Izze contains no refined sugar, no caffeine, and no artificial ingredients of any kind.
The company competes against others in the gourmet soda segment who, unlike Coca-Cola and Pepsi, use no high fructose corn syrup. Its primary competitors in this segment are Grown-up Soda (GuS) of New York, Fizzy Lizzy of New York, and Steaz of Newtown, Pennsylvania.
On September 26th, 2006, Izze Beverage Co was purchased by PepsiCo. [1] PepsiCo has announced that it plans to leave Izze as is, only assisting with marketing efforts.
