IWR, Independent Wrestling Revolution:
An independently produced live professional wrestling experience, running one-to-two times per month in the Detroit City, Metro Detroit, Michigan markets.
Operated and maintained by the Revolution's business promoters Josh Movado and Bubba Mackenzie, two members of Detroit's notorious live punk-rock-n-wrestling stage show: The Bump-N-Uglies Experience (currently under Steel Cage Records)!
'The Bump-N-Uglies' are Bubba Mackenzie (lead guitar, vocals), Josh Movado (drums, vocals), Amado Movado (guitar) and Rob Rossetti (bass). The BNU crew were very well known in Detroit for their appearances alongside the Insane Clown Posse at various concerts and the Clowns unique brand of pro wrestling events-- including Stranglemania Live, Hellfire Wrestling and the Juggalo Championshit Wrestling series.
On August 25, 2001, the Bump-N-Uglies co-promoted a punk rock and hardcore wrestling concert event, "Brawl @ The Hall 2001" This show was a one-time only best-of-the-best independent wrestling extravaganza to be held at Detroit's Saint Andrews Hall. After 5 hours of steel chairs, kendo sticks, broken tables, gimmick matches, UV light tubes, TROMA FILMS' Toxic Avenger, Big Japan hardcore wrestling legend MAD MAN PONDO and buckets of blood later, the show earned a niche in Michigan independent wrestling's history books.
On Saturday, January 26, 2003, The same rockin' wrestlers The Bump-N-Uglies took their second attempt at promoting a live event at Sterling Heights, Michigan's Sunnybrook Golf and Bowl colliseum. The BNU founded the IWR's basis from Detroit's PRO WRESTLING REVOLUTION (PWR) Hotline host Ron "Showtime" Stewart and debuted the brand-new Independent Wrestling Revolution (IWR) with story-driven pro wrestling in a very comfortable, close-knit environment.
This new IWR federation made two strong-willed vows:
The Fan's Creed: "For the Fans, By the Fans, Forever the Fans!". That motto summed up the entire project in nine simple words. Of course that very same Fan's Creed was the foundation for the second IWR mantra: "See The Stars of Tomorrow...TODAY!".
In the past, the Revolution have featured and worked to develop the outstanding homegrown Michigan raised superstars like Total Non-stop Action's Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Zach Gowen, Jimmy Jacobs among others.
Today, there is no-telling who will pop up in the IWR on a whim. The talent pool is fantastic and very far-reaching. Each card is a suprise as it's own stand-alone supershow event.
Superstars that have come thru the IWR for classic encounters include: Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Jerry The King Lawler, AJ Styles, LA Park, Konnan, El Hijo Del Santo, Christopher Daniels, Larry Zybysko, Homeless Jimmy, Mad Man Pondo, Monty Brown, Sabu, Insane Clown Posse, The Rude Boy, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, Chris Hero and many, MANY MORE.
IWR shows are filmed, produced and distributed by Jim Hall, Dod March and Marquee Wrestling Home Video.
