Iwo Jima LORAN-C transmitter was a LORAN-C transmitter at Iwo Jima, Japan of Grid 9970 at . Iwo Jima LORAN-C transmitter had a transmission power of 4000 kilowatts, which is more than the most powerful broadcasting stations.
Iwo Jima LORAN-C transmitter had a 411.5 metre (1350 ft) tall guyed mast, which was built in 1963. It collapsed in 1965 at repair trial of a defective eyebolt of a backstage insulator. The collapsing tower killed 6 people and also destroyed the transmitter building. The tower was later replaced by a tower of same height. In September 1993 Iwo Jima LORAN-C transmitter was shut-down, and it's tower was dismantled. The service is now provided from LORAN-C transmitter Niijima.
