Iwami, Shimane

Iwami (石見町; -cho) was a town located in Ōchi District, Shimane, Japan.

As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 6,337 and a density of 46.13 persons per km². The total area was 137.36 km².

On October 1, 2004, the towns of Iwami and Mizuho and the village of Hasumi (all from Ochi District) merged to form the new town of Oonan.
