Recommend reading WP:A, WP:CITE, WP:FN and, if you want, WP:CITET, before diving into any of the requests for articles.

You too can join my three favorite projects, Ghost towns, National Register of Historic Places and Illinois.

I know it's no Harmilda, nor lime kiln, but hey, I try.

There really isn't much chance for survival.

[edit] About

Freelance journalist. Writer, aspiring novelist.

Here, on wikipedia, you will find me writing mostly history related articles. Usually American, usually minor history, or at least that which not as well known. Journalists interest me, war correspondents especially, so I have written a lot on that topic. The stuff I write and research for the broader category of American History usually involves the lesser known minor history surrounding the founding of mid-sized American cities. And then there are ghost towns and Registered Historic Places.

I am a fairly active contributer to Did You Know? on the Main Page as well as Good Article Candidates. I also participate in AfD discussions when the occassion comes along that I nominate something for deletion, which is rare. I nominate the occasional image for deletion as well, usually through my exploits at GAC. I should also mention I take photos for the Wiki too. Right now with a small Canon camera, I have a cooler Sony one that doesn't have a charger right now, damn it. I can take requests, mostly for Illinois, but can't guarantee that I will get to them quickly unless they are in Northern Illinois (not Chicago--there are better people for that anyway).
