Ivan Karabyts

Ivan Karabyts (1945 - 2001) was a famous Ukrainian composer and conductor. He won many awards throughout his career.

Ivan Karabyts was born in the village of Yalta, in the Donets'k region of Ukraine. He graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory in 1971 as a student of Boris Lyatoshynsky and Myroslav Skoryk. He conducted the Dance Ensemble of the Kyiv Military District and the Kyiv Camerata. Mr. Karabyts has also taught at the Kyiv Conservatory.

Ivan Karabyts has written works for solo piano, orchestra, voice, piano and voice, and works for different combinations of instruments. His works have been performed throughout former Soviet Union nations, many European nations, and the USA.

Mr. Karabyts died in 2001.
