Iva Hercíková

Iva Hercíková ['ɪva 'hɛrtsi:kova:] (2 November 1935 in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia - 27 January 2007, Czech Republic) was a Czech writer and author of several tens of novels and movie scripts.

Iva Hercíková, born as a Vodňanská, graduated on the grammar school in Liberec. In 1954 she studied dramaturgy and theatre sciences on the Prague's DAMU. She graduated in 1958. Her second husband was Jiří Robert Pick since 1961.

In 1986 she emigrated with her third husband to Germany and in 1987 to the USA. They settled in Florida and then in Manhattan, New York. She still remained a Czech citizen.
[edit] Velvet revolution
After the Velvet revolution she returned home and spent several months in Prague but definitely she returned to the Czech Republic in 2000. She comitted suicide aged 71 on 27th January 2007.
